ProLife Kelburne Ladies 2s vs St. Andrews Uni 2s
On the 15th October Kelburne Ladies 2's played against St Andrews University at Glasgow Green. When the starting whistle blew Kelburne had most of the possession and were in St Andrew's half for the majority of the time. Lucy Bliss had a fantastic break but was unfortunately taken out by the keeper and was taken off the pitch to recover. In the next 10 minutes Julie Bryce and Catherine McLaughlin both created brilliant chances from corners but the St Andrew's defence was very strong and managed to sweep the ball away from goal. It was not until the 21st minute when Julie Bryce scored the opening goal after a great run down the line by Rachel Bannantyne. However St Andrews were putting up a fight and brought the ball from their own D and scored a well worked goal. Finishing 1-1 at half time. In the second half St Andrews still looked strong and managed to score a second on the 49th minute mark making it 1-2 St. Andrews. Kelburne fought back and after a series of passing Bethany Allan managed to sweep the ball into the goal making it 2-2. Kelburne stayed determined and after making many outcomes in the D by Katrina Miller, Jen Morgan and Julie Bryce, Julie scored her second pushing Kelburne ahead making it 3-2. The midfield including, Sarah Wilson, Jen Morgan, Rachel Bannantyne and Molly Cuthbertson played very well, connecting between defenders and the forwards. With only a few minutes to go everyone worked together with simple passes back and forth allowing the score to stay at 3-2. A great win for Kelburne 2's.
