Bromac Kelburne 1?s: 6
Date: Saturday 19th September
In a tough encounter away to Gordonians the Bromac Kelburne 1st XI triumphed with a hard fought 6-0 victory. The initial stages of the game were shaky as Gordonians could have scored from a breakaway through the middle of the pitch; which resulted in a short corner for the home team. However, after great defense from the corner a quick breakaway resulted in the first goal from Jonathan Christie with a shot from the top of the ?D?. The remainder of the 1st half was hard fought with the only other goal coming 2 minutes before the break when Andrew Bremner deflected a cross in off of the post past the goalkeeper. After a solid first half performance there was room for improvement on the 2-0 score-line and the team performance.
Half Time Gordonians 0-2 Bromac Kelburne 1?s
After the break Kelburne came out determined to increase their lead. They did so after a dominating spell resulting in a short corner that was saved off the line and finally put in the back of the net by Lee Morton after good play from Gary Maitles following the rebound. The score was then increased further after Jonathan Christie converted his second of the game after some good play along the baseline following a counter attack. Kelburne were then able to enforce their dominance as the home side tired with the 5th goal coming after a Jonathan Christie shot rebounded off the post and was finished by brother Michael. The scoring was rounded off by a spectacular volley into the ground and over the on-rushing goalkeeper and in to the roof of the net by Ross McIntyre.
