Prolife Kelburne Mens 4s lose to Hillhead

Prolife Kelburne Mens 4s 1-4 Hillhead 4s

Saturday 24th October

Spells of good passing hockey were followed by some scrappy play from both teams giving possession away too easily

Turnover ball and a penalty stroke cost us 3 easy goals

A great run and pass from Miller saw Gillies equalise at 1-1

Plenty of shots on target from strikers and midfield but Hillhead keeper had a good day, saving most that came his way

The match was ruined, as a game, late in the second half when the Hillhead umpire chose to send off 3 Kelburne players, including the keeper, prior to a Hillhead corner

He eventually reversed his decision in consultation with the Kelburne umpire, re the keeper, leaving Kelburne with 9 players for 5 of the final 9 minutes

The 9 players not only defended well but pressed hard to score

Excellent play from Miller, Whiting Twins and veterans Allan, Currie and Gillies

Man of match Gordon Robbie for a solid shift in central defence.
