Young Kelburne Ladies 3's continue winning ways

Saturday 7th November 2015.

Kelburne Ladies 3's hosted Ferguslie Ladies the West district.  With a slightly depleted squad the young squad were looking to continue on from last week?s performance.

The rain poured in Linwood as the young squad commanded the possession and claimed three short corners and a number of shots on goal with the first ten minutes.  Rachael Ewing-Day opened the scoring in the 12 minute with a strong right sided run into finished by slotting the ball past the keeper.

The pressure continued and within 10 minutes the Kelburne side had increased this lead again curtesy of an Emma Ryan who's second strike from a short corner was clinical.  Lucy Bliss added to the tally 5 minutes after this with a deflection from Ryan's corner strike, finding its way into the net.

The start of the second half begins much as the 1st had finished.  Ewing-Day had the ball in the net after her strike was deflected by a defender.  However the goal was disallowed and extremely frustrated, the captain argued and got herself sent off. 

Nevertheless with a player down the Kelburne squad pulled together and created numerous chances and continued to dominate possession.  Within this period the Ferguslie team did break up the pitch and claim a corner, which was calmed slipped past Abbie Houston between the sticks.

After pushing up the pitch from defence to attack Ryan got herself on the score sheet again, after striking the bottom left corner from another corner.  The game finished 4-1 to the Kelburne girls, and a very well deserved three points claimed.
