Stirling Wanderers vs ProLife Kelburne Ladies 2s
Saturday 14th November 2015.
Kelburne Ladies 2s travelled to Stirling today with a squad of fourteen on a cold, wet, miserable afternoon. Despite this the girls were feeling in a positive mood and were keen to get their first win under their new coach Adam McInnes. The girls stuck to their coaches plan and worked together to ensure the Wanderers were unable to score a goal. Eilidh Fleming was called into action on several occasions and kept the score 0-0 at half time.
Half Time Stirling Wanderers 0-0 ProLife Kelburne Ladies 2s
With a motivating team talk by Adam at half time the girls went out determined for a goal. Following some great attacks into Stirling's half by Rachel Bannatyne and Jen Morgan the girls finally managed to get the ball to Kirsty Gorman who took a strong hit from the top of the D which flew past the oppositions goal keeper making the score 1-0 to the kelburne girls. The kelburne defence of Sarah McHard, Olivia Sadler, Catherine McLauchlan and Ellie Houston stayed strong despite numerous attacks from the Wanderers. Ellie Houston made some crucial goal line clearances to stop the home team scoring. Anna Barry, Joy Fraser and Sarah Wilson worked hard in the midfield having some good link up play with Bethany Allan and Tara Patell. In the final minutes Elise Berry managed to drive into the opponents D and rounded the goal keeper to slot the ball nicely bringing the score to 2-0 which is how the game ended. A well deserved victory for the ladies 2s.
