Kelburne 2 ? 0 Kelso

Kelburne started the day brilliantly by beating Kelso 2-0, a score which didn?t reflect the difference in the teams. Kelburne were far superior throughout with solid performances in defence from Emmy Martin and Kirsty Gordon and outstanding goalkeeping from stand-in goalkeeper Amy Gibson

Kelburne 2 ? 1 Strathallan

The team then went on to play Strathallan, a very organised team under the tutelage of Grove?s 1st XI indoor team coach Audrey Sime. Kelburne got their more than deserved win with Jennifer Hendry scoring the winner with just 5 seconds on the clock to make it 2-1!

Kelburne 2 ? 1 George Heriots

The girls played George Heriots in the last group game and again won 2-1, securing a well-deserved first place in the group! With Kristine Ayling leading the team from the centre of the court, Kelburne could?ve scored many more in a fantastic performance from everyone with great tackling from Kristy Gordon at right back.

Semi final

Kelburne 1 ? 6 Craigholme

Kelburne faced a much more organised and skilful team in the semi-final and eventually lost the game 6-1 after a plucky fight back in the second half with a corner strike from Kristine Ayling. By this stage tiredness began to creep in, and understandably so with only 1 substitute available all day.

3rd and 4th Play-off

Kelburne 1 ? 2 George Heriots

The 3rd/4th Playoff gave Kelburne another encounter with George Heriots who the girls had beaten convincingly earlier in the day. This time was, however, not the same result. After being tied at 1-1 for the majority of the game, George Heriots scored a goal late on in the game to steal their revenge.

Overall placed 4th is a great achievement by the girls. Although they were very disappointed they all played extremely well, and had great support from Mr and Mrs Martin and Mr Hendry. A big thank you and well done to Amy Gibson for stepping in at the last minute for the Kelburne girls and performed brilliantly all day.

Well done girls!!
