1st XI near title

Grange 1 ? 6 Kelburne

Kelburne travelled to Peffermill to play old rivals Grange late on Saturday afternoon knowing that another win would push them closer to regaining their title.

Grange scored a controversial opener within the first minute when the umpires started the game with not all the Kelburne ready.

The injustice of this seemed to spur Kelburne to their best performance of the season.

Influential GB Internationalist Niall Stott brought the teams level before top goalscorer Johnny Christie put the Burne ahead.

Veteran Ross McPherson put Kelburne further ahead scoring from a rebound to push Kelburne closer to the title.

Johnny Christie added his second and Kelburnes fourth before his brother Junior GB Internationalist Michael scored the 5th, Kelburne wrapped up the victory with Niall Stott completing the scoring with a well taken goal.

This weekend Kelburne face Menzieshill in the league at Bellahouston 2.30 pushback and on Sunday the play Inverleith in the Quarter Finals of the Scottish Cup again a 2.30pm push back.

Kelburne hopefully will enter these 2 crucial matches with a full squad with GB junior Inernationalist Ian Scholefield nearing full fitness following his recent injury problems.
