1sts March into Final

Kelburne 5 ? 1 Menzieshill

Scottish Cup Holders Kelburne travelled to Peffermill to play Dundonian rivals Menzieshill in the Scottish Cup semi final.

In a lacklustre first half a very negative Menzieshill side packed the final quarter of the pitch to deny Kelburne space and deny them scoring opportunities.

The first half was very uneventful and Kelburne took the lead on the stroke of half time when Mark Ralph scored from a penalty corner to give Kelburne a 1-0 interval lead.

Menzieshill upset the form book and briefly posed Kelburne some questions when the shocked the Cup Holders with an early 2nd half equaliser.

This stung Kelburne into action and Scottish coach of the Year Derek Forsyth switched Great Britain squad member Michael Christie into a centre midfield role and this change bought about an instant change of fortune.

Christie brothers Michael and Johnny, Kenny Bain and Gordon McIntyre all scored to give Kelburne a comfortable 5-1 victory and a place in next months final where the opponents will be Grange who shocked Western in the other semi final.

This will be Kelburnes 5th consecutive final and they will be looking to retain the cup and also complete a remarkable double double!!!
