Azzurri Kelburne 7 ? 2 Perthshire

Ben Petersen was the star of this match against a physically stronger side from Perth. Ben scored 5 goals, Alyson Hendry & Jason Cairns completed the scoring. This victory ensured Azzurri Kelburne progressed to the semi- final stages.

Azzurri Kelburne 3 ? 0 Inverleith

Captain Jason Cairns led from the front in this match against old junior rivals Inverleith, he scored twice in a tough and very competitive match. Ben Petersen also scored to see Azzurri Kelburne move into the semi-finals and in the process knock out one of the favourites for the title Inverleith.

Azzurri Kelburne 2 ? 1 Clydesdale

The semi-final clash between title holders Clydesdale and Azzurri Kelburne was always going to be a close affair and that is how it turned out to be.

Jason Cairns opened the scoring after a fine solo run, then Ben Petersen added a second. Azzurri Kelburne were in complete control of this match and coasting to a place in the final but a defensive lapse allowed Clydesdale to score against the run of play.

This gave Clydesdale hope and their cause was boosted further when Ben Petersen was yellow carded for dissent ?even though he said absoultely nothing and was innocent of the charge?.

The Kelburne rearguard then performed magnificently well as they held out against the Clydesdale onslaught. Harry Godfrey, Calum McNaught & Jason Cairns held the team together at the back, and the reshuffled midfield of Adam McInnes & Jackie Carrigan also worked hard to stop Clydesdale equalising.

Azzurri Kelburne held out and in the end had further chances to increase their lead but John Gerard Shephard missed the best of those chances.

Azzurri Kelburne 8 ? 1 Dundee Wanderers

The final saw Azzurri Kelburne face their old Tayside rivals Dundee Wanderers.

But this game was over as a contest within 5 minutes when Azzurri Kelburne scored 5 goals without reply in the opening minutes of the contest. Skipper Jason Cairns opened the scoring, Alyson Hendry then scored a well taken double and Ben Petersen scored 2.

Dundee Wanderers scored a consolation goal before Ben Petersen scored a further 2 goals and 11 year old Molly Godfrey completed the scoring tapping in at the back post.

Captain Jason Cairns collected the trophy and in his acceptance speech thanked the large Azzurri Kelburne support.
