Kelburne made light work of the challenge of Clydesdale at Bellahouston, coming away with a 9-1 victory in a one sided affair.
Following an even start in which both sides threatened, Kelburne took the lead when talismatic striker Johnny Christie's hard shot from the top of the D appeared to deceive Fin Bell in the Clydesdale goal. 'Burne continued to apply the pressure to the dale back line and Chris Nelson added a second following a fierce reverse stick shot which was again too powerful for the 'dale keeper.
A quickfire double from Alan Forsyth followed as first he applied the finishing touch to a move involving Michael Christie and Kenny Bain, and then he slammed hoe his second following a pass from Michael Bremner. Kelburne's 5th goal was the goal of the game, striker Kenny Bain picked up the ball midway inside the dale half, he drove inside beating several players before cooly lifting the ball over the advancing Bell.
The second half was slower in comparison to the first and the sixth goal took some time to arrive. Mark Ralph fired home from a penalty following a foul on Nelson in the D. Ralph quickly added a second with a trademark low drag flick which went through the legs of Bell. Clydesdale grabbed a lifeline with 20 minutes to go, when a mistake by Josh Cairns allowed former 'burne star Raymond Wrightson to fire past Mark Fulton.
Burne finished the game strongly and added to their tally when Bain added his second and Michael Christie followed up a rebound from a short corner. Another dominant performance from the guys and with league new boys Edinburgh University next up the chances of the flow of goals stopping seem remote.
