1st Team in Euro Action

The gents? first teamstep into European action tonight as they face Pembroke Wanderers in the first round of the EHL in Barcelona

Pembroke are the current Irish Champions and will prove a tough nut to crack as they have several Irish internationals as well as ex Scotland cap Paddy Conlon.

Kelburne possess a lot of firepower in their arsenal and have fired 55 goals in their 7 league games this season. Ace marksmen Johnny Christie commented

"Knowing one win will be enough to progress to the next round we will fancy our chances in a one off game. With the amount of ability and experience we now posses we will be looking to progress."

'Burne will be looking to Christie and his prolific partners Kenny Bain and Alan Forsyth to fire them into the next round. Pembroke will also have to be aware of the goal threat from the Kelburne midfield where Michael Christie, Chris Nelson and Ross Stott have all scored with ease driven on by John O' Shea style performances by Gordon McIntyre.

The game may come down to a battle of the set piece and the 'Burne will look to the talents of the evergreen Mark Ralph and hot shot Josh Cairns to continue their fine form.

Kelburne also hope to have William Marshall and inspirational skipper Gareth Hall back to full fitness for the game.

Manager Harry Coles commented

"The boys have acclimatised well to the tropical conditions and looked razor sharp in training last night. If they play to their ability I am quietly confident of getting a positive result."
