2nd XI Goal Feast

Kelburne 14 Stirling Uni 0

The gents 2nd XI went into this game at Bellahouston against a Stirling Uni team who are nearer the bottom of the table looking to win comfortably to increase their already healthy goal difference. They were boosted by the inclusion of promising youngsters Michael Bremner and Josh Cairns

Kelburne started well and dominated possession. Several chances were created but the usually lethal forward line were unable to convert any of them.

Kelburne's pressure was rewarded midway through the half when they managed to win a number of short corners. Set piece specialist Josh Cairns duly dispatched 4 of these to all areas of the goal. His power and accuracy leaving the Uni goalkeeper perplexed.

Kelburne promptly added a further 3 goals prior to have time with first Gordon 'Beast' Menzies getting his name on the score sheet followed by a quick fire double from Michael Bremner.

Kelburne started the second half in similar form to the end of the first half and were quickly into their stride. Stirling Uni were unable to cope with passing and movement of the burne midfield and forwards.

Kelburne were able to add a further 7 goals in the second half with Ed Greaves, Colin Bryce, Gordon Menzies, Michael Bremner and Josh Cairns adding to the first half scoring.

The game was held up towards the end as a Stirling Uni play was the unfortunate victim of a Ewan Carmichael lifted hit into the D.

Overall Kelburne will be pleased with the number of goals and the quality of play on show. Due to the U18 Inter Districts next week the 2nd XI have the week off.
