Under 18's make winning start

Kelburne Under 18s arrived to a windy Peffermill early on Sunday morning determined to pick up their winning ways after a disappointing loss in a SHU coin toss last year sent them crashing out of the tournament.

Refreshed with a new coaching staff of Scottish International, William Marshall and Neil Godfrey, and a strong squad boasting senior internationalists Alan Forsyth and Michael Bremner, burne were eager to dominate the opposition
 
They started well dominating Western in the opening match, crushing their fierce rivals 7-0, the young Kelburne side showed their intentions for the rest of the tournament. The goals coming from Alan Forsyth (2), Josh Cairns (3) and Ryan Edgar(2).

Next up was Boroughmuir who managed to hold Kelburne to a 1-0 lead at half time. After some words of encouragement from the coaches the side put in a stronger 2nd half performance finishing the game strongly with a 7-0 scoreline. Goals again coming from Forsyth(3), Cairns, Steven Robbie,Lee Morton and Mark Connor.

 
The third and final game was played in wind, rain and hailstone as Kelburne rounded of a successful return to the Scottish cup with a 5-0 win against Inverleith. On the score sheet were Jason Cairns (2), Josh Cairns(2) and Morton.
 
The boys will be looking to build on this fine start as they look forward to the next round of matches and hope to progress to the final.
