Wanderers Wilt as Women Win

Kelburne 1s: 2
Dundee Wanderers 1s: 0

Following the last meeting with Wanderers, Kelburne were especially determined to prove a point in this match.

Due to international commitments, Wanderers were somewhat depleted and without a goalkeeper. Kelburne had a very confident start with a fantastic strike from Katie Mackay gaining an early lead.  Unfortunately following this early goal Wanderers reacted by shutting down in defence and managed to maintain the one nil scoreline up to the half.
In the second half Kelburne found it equally difficult to convert in the circle with Wanderers defending well.  Late in the game, Rachael Ewing found the net for a well deserved goal making the score 2 nil in favour of the home side.

Overall Kelburne played some very good hockey and defended well all over the pitch.  Dundee Wanderers played excellent tactical hockey in their own circle to keep the scoreline low however Kelburne created some excellent chances which we can hopefully capitalise on in future games.
