Men's 1's in Final

The men's 1st team avenged last years loss to Grange with a comfortable 4-0 victory in the Scottish Cup Semi Final at Peffermill on Saturday.

With the league title tucked safely in the trophy cabinet for a 6th time in a row, the squad headed to Edinburgh high on confidence. They were dealt a blow prior to the game when Gareth Hall joined Johnny Christie on the sidelines, both ruled out with knee injuries.
Burne were quickly in to their stride and dominated the early possession. It was clear that Grange were looking to sit back and soak up pressure, and were looking to hit on the break. Burne took the lead when a penetrating run down the right from Michael Christie, found Chris Nelson in space, who calmy rounded the Grange goalie to fire home the opener.
Kelburne searched for a second goal for the rest of the first half but the normally sharp forward line was not quite clicking. Burne were rewarded for their pressure on the half time hooter, when a well worked short corner routine involving Josh Cairns and Mark Ralph allowed Alan Forsyth to slot home the vital second goal.

Burne were also able to add a forth when good defence at a Grange short corner resulted in a breakaway, with Christie drawing the goalkeeper out of position before squaring for Nelson to add his second of the game.
This Saturday the team are in action in the final against Inverleith, with the game pushing back at 4pm at Peffermill in Edinburgh
