Squad manager, Steve Bain, also of Kelburne, enthused,
?This is another big step in the ongoing development of these youngsters who have all enjoyed a tremendous season with club and district. It?s Ed?s first real taste at this level, having missed the Wales trip due to a family holiday, but he will be a very important part of the squad with his blistering pace and dynamic style of play. Lee is already established at this level and had the honor of Captaining the side down at Wrexham. He has been superb at national level, both on and off the pitch, this season and we are relying on further good performances from him down south. Once again young Jack has shown he?s got what it takes by battling through into this squad. Since going down to Wrexham his form had shaded a little, which is only to be expected with what?s being asked of him at such a young age, but lately he was showing signs of getting back to where he was. At Sunday?s final selection camp he produced the goods when it mattered and was very much back to his best.
As ever, we are expecting some tough matches against the English. We are travelling with a very young squad and to be honest it?s not been made clear to us yet the standard of the opposition we will be facing. However, we expect the English to be strong regardless. We are very much looking forward to the trip and the prospect of the games and training sessions at Lillieshall will provide great experience for all of the players.?
