Alan in Busselton, Game 4 v Victoria

Playing one of the pre-tournament favourites, Victoria, had a huge impact on the team who only drew yesterday with minnows Tasmania.  Everyone stepped up to the mark and paid close attention to the instructions of coach, Geoff MacNeill.  We controlled all aspects of the game and went into the lead half way through the first half with a superb field goal by left wing Stutch.  The next goal came soon after with right inner Ozzy scoring another field goal with a clever reverse lob of the keeper.  Half-time came too soon for the Country team who were playing rampant team hockey.

Immediately after the re-start, there was a flowing move down the right which forced the Victoria defence into fouling in the circle.  From the resultant short corner, Hoppy injected to Ozzy who passed hard to Ken Walter who scored with a clever deflection.  The next goal was a field goal scored by Stutch again, following a series of good short passes through the mid-field.  The final goal began with Stutch passing from wide left through the middle of the circle to lurking Walter who scored emphatically.

This result upset the bookies - 5-0 win against Victoria.  Five teams have all to play for with two games to go.
