Alan in Busselton, Game 6 v South Australia

This was a vital game which determined our final placing.  We had revised our short corner routine and the rest of the team were well prepared for the match.  We played well throughout the first half and the constant pressure paid off with a short corner clinically put away by Ozzy.  So a comfortable 1-0 lead at half-time.
This time we didn't mess it up, even though SA equalised with a field goal after five minutes of the second half.  We kept playing to the plan, which included valueing the ball.  We scored again after 15 minutes of the second half through Mazz and maintained that lead until the end.  A very unspectacular, but satisfying, 2-1 win which places us third in the final playoffs on Friday where we play Western Australia Metro who finished above us in third (but only on goal difference).
National Sports News on WIN covered the vets tournament in Bunbury and Busselton - it lasted 30 seconds and one of the two playing sequences was of yours truly.  How sick were these Aussies!
