With imminent budget cuts at Glasgow City Council, the facility at Bellahouston is under more pressure than ever. To play our part in running of the facility, it's important to be aware of our responsibilities so Stevie Bain has kindly outlined the principles on which Bella is run below:

Procedures for Pitch Users:
For all day time lets, (before 5:00pm), bookings must be made directly to staff at the Palace of
Arts, by email, fax or telephone.
For all evening lets, (after 5:00pm) and weekend lets, bookings must be made directly to Steve
Bain, user group lets convener, by email, fax or telephone.
Bookings can only be confirmed to be valid on receipt of written confirmation from the above.
Cancellation of Pitch Lets
All pitch lets must be cancelled a full 7 days in advance. Failure to do so will result in the full
let charge being applied.
For all day time lets, (before 5:00pm), cancellations must be notified directly to staff at the
Palace of Arts, by email, fax or telephone.
For all evening lets, (after 5:00pm) and weekend lets, cancellations should be notified directly
to Steve Bain, user group lets convener, by email, fax or telephone, with a copy issued direct
to the Palace of Arts.
Where lets are cancelled by user group members due to pitch conditions or severe weather,
this must be carried out by pitch inspection at the centre in conjunction with a member of the
Palace of Arts staff. Failure to do so may result in the full let charge being applied.
Pitch Lets Priority
The main priority and order of importance for weekend fixtures will be deemed to be as per the
user group priority list.
This means that where preceding events are hit by problems, they will not be allowed to
interfere with the timescales for the matches which follow.
The exception to this will be where a delay is as a result of centre staff activities resulting in an
effect on the starting time for matches.
e.g. pitch watering delays, lighting delays, removal of trespassers. In such cases, this must be
recorded and signed off the on the register at the Palace of Arts.
Where pitch watering is required, centre staff should be notified by users at least 10 minutes
before the start of the let time.
No other delays will be deemed to be acceptable for lets being extended beyond the
Unfortunate circumstances such as serious injury to a player, do not constitute acceptable
User Group Code of Conduct:
Let Periods and Access
ALL LETS will start and finish at the appointed times for the period as booked.
i.e. 1:30pm (start) to 3:00pm (finish)
All lets include the following within the period of the booking;
- Pitch watering
- Team Warm-up
- Team Cool down
- Collection of balls, cones etc
Users are not entitled to remain on the pitch or surround areas (including dug-outs) out with
the period of their booking. All players and officials MUST vacate the pitch and dug-out areas
immediately upon completion of a game / training session and before the start of the next let.
Users, players and officials must not enter the pitch, perimeter or dug-out areas during
the course of the previous let. They must remain behind the spectator barriers until the
commencement of their let.
No physical or stick & ball warm-up may take place on the pitch, perimeter area or spectators
area during the course of the previous let.
Only players and officials involved in a match or a training session may enter the pitch area
during a let. All spectators must remain behind the spectator barriers.
For the benefit of spectators, coaches, substitutes and officials should remain within the
dugout area during a match and not on the touchline.
All users are responsible for removing any debris on completion of their let, such as food,
paper, water bottles, orange peels, tape or other discarded pieces of equipment etc.
All clubs are responsible for ensuring that opposing teams are aware of and adhere to
the above guidelines.
