Three events in March will give Glaswegians the chance to find out more about proposals for Glasgow Green Hockey Centre, which will be the competition venue for Hockey during the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
The events will take place at Glasgow Club Gorbals(8 March), Bridgeton Community Centre (11 March) and Glasgow Green Football Centre (12 March).
The Glasgow Green Hockey Centre project includes the provision of two new FIH (Federation International de Hockey) standard Floodlit Synthetic Hockey Pitches, with changing accommodation, to serve as the Hockey competition and warm-up facilities in 2014 with 5,000 seats in place for the Games, of which 500 will be permanent.
There is also the opportunity with the project to include accommodation to provide a new National Centre for Hockey, together with offices for Scottish Hockey.
All those interested in the new facility are invited to come along.
A small architectural display will be on display at the events on 8 and 12 March, with staff from both Glasgow City Council and Glasgow Life on hand to outline the proposals and open the floor for discussion and the recording of those taking part. The 11 March event will be a shorter session, outlining the proposal and again inviting comments and questions from the floor.
The details of the events are as follows:
? Tuesday 8th March, 5 - 9.30pm @ Gorbals Leisure Centre, 275 Ballater Street G5 0YP
? Friday 11th March, 1.30 - 2:30pm Bridgeton Community Centre, 68 Dale Street G40 4TL
? Saturday 12th March 10am - 3pm @ Glasgow Green Football Centre, 28 Kings Drive G40 1HB
After these events, comments and views represented will be collated to form a report that will be made available at the venues and to those who express an interest.
