Young 3rd XI Girls Keep Heads Up Despite Loss!

Saturday 19 March

Kelburne III 0 - 5 Hillhead IV

Adifficult game for Kelburne, with no goalkeeper available meaning the team had to rely on an inexperienced keeper (me) between the posts for the second week running.

Lots of early pressure from Hillhead in the first half, but Kelburne defended well at short corners, with no goals for Hillhead from the first 3 or 4. However, Hillhead did score 2 in the first half, with the second coming just moments before the half-time whistle.

Kelburne won a long corner early in the second half and there was a period of pressure on goal. Clare continually ran the full length of the pitch (which I think she paid for on Sunday!), but sadly no to avail.

Hillhead continued to win short corners and despite a couple of saved attempts, they scored another 3 in the second half.

A disappointing game all round, but the young Kelburne team did manage to keep their heads up the until final whistle.

Good luck for the last game of the season on Saturday against Ferguslie girls!
