Title Bid back on Track

Men's 1: 9
Inverleith:0

Kelburne traveled to Peffermill for an early start against Inverleith looking to get their quest for a 7th league title back on track. Mark Ralph returned to boost the squad with Josh Cairns missing through injury.

The team was quickly into their stride and it was clear that they meant business as they scored 2 goals in the opening 10 minutes. Michael Christie grabbed both goals with the second being a well constructed team goal which finished with Christie deflecting a Michael Bremner cross high into the net.

Kelburne were fully in control of the game and further goals arrived before half time. First Mark Ralph converted a short corner with a low drag flick and the Kiwi Steve Crossett was on hand to finish off another fine team move.

Kelburne started the second half much as they had done in the first and were immediately on the front foot. Burne were awarded a penalty following a deliberate foul in the D, however William Marshall?s effort was well saved by the Inverleith goalkeeper.

This proved to be the only blip in a fine performance by the team and further goals were scored by Johnny Christie and Ross McIntyre. Crossett was able to add his second and Ralph scored another from a set piece. The scoring was completed in the final minute when veteran marksman Don Tervit turned home from close range.

A good performance from the guys and just the sort of reaction coach Mark Ralph would have been looking for.
