Kelburne Mens 1s: 4
After last weeks 5-0 over Dundee Wanderers, Kelburne looked to continue their winning start to the season against Hillhead.
Kelburne started the game on the upper hand, dominating possession and creating a
host of chances but unfortunately they were unable to convert. With Kelburne continuing to pile on the pressure and Hillhead being pushed
back, it was a surprise that Hillhead took the lead. Hillhead managed a
counter attack which resulted in a penalty corner which was converted
into the bottom right hand corner of the goal. Although, it did not take
long for Kelburne to get back in the game, with a short corner which
was neatly converted by Willie Marshall.
Half time Hillhead 1 v 1 Kelburne
After a rough team talk by Mark Ralph, Kelburne started the second half with purpose and intensity. This sustained pressure resulted in Kelburne taking the lead through a contentious goal between Alan Forsyth and Steve Crosset, but the goal was eventually awarded to Alan Forsyth. Kelburne then extended the lead through a magnificent interchange of play between Alan Forsyth and Jonny Christie, which ended in Forsyth flicking the ball into the net beyond a helpless Hillhead goalie. Clearly a contender for goal of the season. Michael Christie then rounded off the scoring for Kelburne with a neat finish.
Kelburne will look to continue this good run of results next week when they play title contenders Western Wildcats at Bellahouston.
