Ladies 1XI hold on to 4th spot!!!

Ladies 1XI Indoor
Date: Sunday 10th December at Bells Sports Centre, Perth
Game 1 vs Cala
Score: 4-1
Kelburne started the long day at Bells with a game against Cala. Kelburne were up beat about the game and went into it with a positive attitude. It was a close fought game in the first 10 mins, both teams not wanting to make any mistakes early on. Kelburne had a lot of the possession and within 10 mins Amy Hislop scored the opening goal. Hislop added to her tally early in the 2nd half with another well taken goal. Kelburne dominated the game from then on and a great bit of team work allowed Amanda Maxwell to slide the ball in the goal to finish the tie off. Amy Brodie got the consolation for the Edinburgh outfit with 2 mins left on the clock. A very important win for Kelburne ladies as their fourth place in the division was retained.
Game 2 vs Dundee Wanderers
Score: 2-6
With Dundee Wanderers form over the past two season in indoor, Kelburne knew they were in for a very tough game and maybe lacking bit of self belief. However, after only 4 mins on the clock, Kelburne showed that they were more than capable in giving Wanderers a game and Amy Hislop getting on the score sheet with a early shot from the edge of the 'D'. Wanderers equalised shortly after but it proved to be a very close first half with the teams all square at 2-2 at the interval, after Emma Barlow providing the equaliser for Kelburne.  In the second half Wanderers came out with a little more belief and finished the tie off with 4 goals in 5mins to make the final score 6-2. Kelburne ladies learned that they are very capable in contending with the top teams in the league and that they should always believe that they can win!
