3rd XI Bounce back

Western 4XI 0 - 9 Kelburne 3XI

Kelburne went into this game on the back of a disappointing 3-2 loss to early pace setters rottenrow.

The team was freshened up due to many players having Scotland training. Keburne looked to bounce back and start well but they did far from that as they struggled to get going and adapt to the bouncy pitch. Misplaced passes, forced passes and mistraps were all common.the breakthrough finally came through in the 30th minute after a half of few chances. A short corner was won by chris mcnulty and it was slotted into the bottom left hand corner by andy bremner after slipping the ball left and recieving it again at the penalty spot.

The second goal came soon after thanks to a driving and purposeful run by Matt mcginely who found JG shepherd in space in the D to reverse sweep the ball into the goal.

There was still time for a 3rd before the end of the half after chris mcnulty slammed his upright reverse shot home from top D after recieving a pass from Alan Ralph.

A stern half time team talk from captain Alan Ralph telling the team to pick up the standard seemed to work as kelburne were soon 4 up after JG shepherd won a corner which was scored by Adam McInnes after drag flicking the ball into the bottom left hand corner.

McInnes soon had his 2nd of the game and kelburnes 5th after beating two players in the D before slotting the ball into the bottom left corner.

Kelburne were playing much better and were getting alot of joy down the left hand side.this is where Ryan Edgar won the resulting short corner for Bremner to also get his 2nd of the match after another neatly worked corner which saw bremner is lots of space at the penalty spot to fire the ball home. Kelburne were then put down to 10 men after Chris mcnulty got a green card for swearing. However this didn't to Bremner completing his hatrick after pouncing on a mistake in the D by the defender to squeeze the ball home past the keeper.

Soon after returning to the field mcnulty made amends  by grabbing his second of the game with an excellent reverse hit snapshot to catch the keeper off guard high at the near post. The final goal of the game came with 10 mins to go after bremner won another corner for mcInnes to also complete his hatrick after another precise drag flick into the same corner as before.
