Glynhill Kelburne travelled through to Edinburgh this weekend to face Watsonians in the second game of the season.
The game got off to a start with Watsonians under pressure from an eager Kelburne line up. Kelburne were unable to find any outcomes against the Watsonians persistent defence but neither could Watsonians get the ball towards the Kelburne goal until the 13th minute of the game. The attack ultimately came to nothing but possibly gave Kelburne the motivation to go on and score in the 17th minute with a low drag flick from Mark Ralph at a penalty corner. 1-0 Kelburne.
No goals were seen again for a while despite attacks from both teams. Eventually Kelburne found the back of the net again with a ball from Ralph into William Marshall who delfected the ball safely into the goal in the 30th minute. 2-0 Kelburne.
This second goal inspired Kelburne to squeeze one last goal in before half time with a penalty stroke from Ralph won by Jonny Christie. 3-0 Kelburne.
HALF TIME 3-0
After the break both teams came back looking to improve on their performances, the disheartened Watsonians side still trying to push further up the pitch and Kelburne looking to increase their lead.
They didn?t have to wait long as some good link up play with J. Christie allowed Alan Forsyth to score his first goal of the game seven minutes into the second half. 4-0.
Kelburne continued to dominate the game in attack but Watsonians managed to break away on a few attacks that forced Kelburne to remain vigilant in defence.
The attacks mounted to nothing but Kelburne managed to put away another goal through Michael Christie 14 minutes into the half to increase the margin between the teams. 5-0.
This was shortly followed when a promising attack lead to a ball into the ?D? which Jack McAllister definitely managed to touch into the goal. 6-0.
Kelburne continued to battle with Watsonians right to the end of the game and a late goal at close range from Forsyth sealed the game. 7-0.
Full time 7-0 Kelburne.
