EHL ? EAST GRINSTEAD 26th Oct - 28th Oct
After the success of getting to Euro Final in Lille last year Glynhill Kelburne coach Mark Ralph now takes his Scottish Champions into EHL action for the first time under his stewardship , where they are due to meet crack German side Rott Weiss Koln and Austrian Champions AHT Wein. Both matches take place at East Grinstead where Glynhill Kelburne must finish in the top 2 of their group to progress to the knock out stages.
Mark leads a youthful but very experienced squad south of the border with no fewer than 10 full internationalists within the party. Coach Ralph will be hoping that Scottish Player of the Year Alan Forsyth continues the fine form that he was in at the World Challenge Cup in Portugal when he was in prolific form for Scotland.
Many of this squad are EHL veterans having played in the tournament in all but 1 since its inception, 6 players will however make their EHL debut this weekend and all are looking forward to the experience. These youths are the product of the Kelburne Youth System.
First up for Kelburne is a match against the Germans Rott Weiss Koln who include players who won gold medals at London 2012. Push back for this match is 9.30 on Friday morning and the match will be streamed live via the EHL website and also be shown on Eurosport 2. Twenty four hours later they are up against the Austrian champions AHTC Wein a team Kelburne last faced in a ?B? division Final back in 2005.
Kelburne have aspirations of making the knock out stages for the second time and will be looking for positive outcomes from both matches, however after Grange?s humbling in Barcelona last weekend it will be a tough ask for the Scottish Champions and this is not lost on coach Ralph.
Everyone at the club is behind the boys and a large crowd of Yellow and Black is expected to travel south to lend their support.
