3rd XI win again

Kelburne 3XI vs Giffnock 2XI @ Bellahouston

Kelburne 3s headed into this game on the back of a 6-0 victory over western 4s the week before

Before the game captain Alan Ralph asked for high intensity from the start and he got this.

The 1st goal came after good work from Connor Bain who won a corner when he played the ball of the defenders foot. The resulting corner was scored by Adam Mcinnes after the initial shot from skipper Ralph was blocked. Kelburne continued to pressure the oppositions defence with Sam McKinnon and Billy  Anderson having the best of the chances.

A second goal was then scored by Sam after good build up play in and around the D. The ball came out to Alan Ralph on the left hand side and he fired in a low ball where Sam produced a spectacular deflection after diving for the ball.

With 25 minutes to go till  half time the pressure continued with youngsters Neil McIntyre and Jack Jamieson winning corners which came to nothing due to good defending and lack of composure

HT Kelburne 3XI 2-0 Giffnock 2XI

The second half continued in the same manner as the first with Giffnock not posing much of an attacking threat and were being camped in by Kelburnes pressure.

However, Kelburne could not find that 3rd goal that would put the game to bed. Multiple corners were wasted with Adams dragflick wide of the post and other complex corners not working, as the game went on a lack of match fitness began to show and basics became very sloppy.

The 3rd goal almost came about when Alan Ralph fired another low ball into the D where billy was standing backpost but he missed from 2 inches out and with the goal gaping.the 3rd goal eventually came when Alan Ralph intercepted a Giffnock 16 ball and passed to JG Shepherd who lifted the ball over the oncoming defenders stick and then kept his composure to flick it past the goalkeepers right hand side. Kelburne continued to dominate the game but were unable to find any more goals.
