Ladies 2nd XI in 6 goal thriller

Kelburne 2nd XI 3 - 3 Stirling Wanderers
After viewing some textbook hockey from the men's 1st xi the Ladies 2nds took to pitch 1. Today's game versus Stirling Wanderers who are player coached by Ex-Kelburne legend Lynsey Paxton-Steele.
Kelburne opened the scoring 10mins in after sheer determination from captain Susan 'Subo' Deanie to get a ball through for Christine MacCrimmon's full stretch deflection into the back of the net.
Stirling fought back straight away and some strong defending from Emma Ryan, Heather Flemming, Briony Coyle and Claire Laverty (kelburne debut) managed to hold the score line for 25mins. Stirling managed to squeeze a shot passed the keeper to equalise. With 2 minutes to go Kelburne piled on the pressure but to no avail.
Half time score 1-1.
Early into the 2nd half Stirling managed to take the lead and stretched it further to 3-1. Stirling had a short corner which was well defended by kelburne and our luck was starting to change. Elise Berry then managed to score a goal from the very edge of the D.
With Kelburne injuries mounting the rotations with our one spare player were getting quicker. Although the engines in midfield Imogen 'Midge' Davies, Subo, Fiona McGowan, Katie Brogan and Jen Milne (Debut!) managed to keep pressing forward.
With 2 minutes to go Jen Milne gifted a perfect pass to Christine MacCrimmon's front stick for her 2nd deflected goal today! Final score 3-3. Well done ladies!
