Men's 1's in Dominant Form

Bromac Kelburne 11
Watsonians           0

Watsonians were the hosts for Bromac Kelburne on Saturday 6th September at a sun-drenched Peffermill for the opening game of the season. Bromac Kelburne were keen for a good performance to send out a clear warning to their rivals that they would be relentless in their pursuit for an 11th straight league title under the new management team of Mark Ralph, Craig Walker and Colin Bryce.

New summer signing Douglas Simpson was also handed his competitive debut in the famous yellow shirt. After a delayed start it was the hosts who started the better as Kelburne were slow to establish their domination on the game with passes going awry. It wasn't long before Kelburne went through the gears and cut through the Watsonians defence on a regular basis. A ferocious reverse stick shot from Lee Morton proved too powerful for the hosts' keeper who could only parry the ball into his own goal. Kelburne continued to dominate the 1st half and they went in to the interval 6-0 to the good after further goals from Morton, debutant Simpson, Jack McKenzie and two trademark drag flicks from player-coach Mark Ralph.
The 2nd half produced another dominant display from Bromac Kelburne with Ralph completing his hat-trick when he sent another drag flick crashing into the roof of the Watsonians goal. Hat-tricks from Morton and Simpson on his league debut with a goal from Jonathan Christie completing a resounding 11-0 win.
Bromac Kelburne will be pleased on a patient and clinical performance whilst also keeping a clean sheet under the guidance of keeper Andrew Wilkie.
Next week sees "the Burne" play host to Dundee based side Wanderers where they will be hoping to continue their winning start to the season, with the push back at 3pm at Glasgow Green
