Pro-Life Fitness Kelburne 4's. 1
Kelburne 4's maintained their strong start to the season with a magnificent team performance against a young, fast, skilful Rottenrow squad.
Rottenrow pressed hard from the outset and put the Kelburne midfield and defence under all sorts of pressure but without much outcome and some good saves from the stand in Kelburne keeper, Jack O'Connell
Kelburne back four defended well but just couldn't get the ball out and up to their two strikers. Turnover ball from all over the pitch gave the Rottenrow midfield plenty of opportunity to get early ball up to their 3 strikers
A couple of Rottenrow short corners were well defended and lead to a nil nil half time score
Second half saw Rottenrow press and attack more down Kelburnes right side but although lots of action in and around the circle they failed to create many goal scoring opportunities.
Stand in keeper Jack O,Connell had 3 vital saves keeping the team in the game and setting up quick counter attacks and it was from one of these that saw a Kelburne striker "stick" tackled inside the circle by 2 Rottenrow defenders Penalty stroke and Andrew Wilkie stepped up to convert low into keepers right hand corner.
A more composed performance for the final 20 minutes saw Kelburne hold out for the win.
