Kelburne Mens' 4s Defeat Clydesdale 4s 13-2

On 14.9.19 - It was a very windy afternoon at Linwood where the men’s 4th eleven started there second league game of the season. The game got off to a quick start with kelburne quickly getting possession from Clydesdale and breaking on the attack. It didn’t take long for the first goal to come when a great pass down the left hand side found Kevin fairbairn to run into the D where he found himself 1 on 1 with the Clydesdale keeper where he calmly slotted it into the goal for his first of the season , A great start by the 4’s. There was a lot of great play to be had but kelburne just couldn’t take there chances, where against the run of play found a Clydesdale counter attack as they slotted home a back post shot to level the score 1-1. Kelburne quickly got back into the game and before you knew it was 2-1 , the first half continued with the 4’s playing some lovely hockey and great attacking play from all the team to end the first half 6-1. Second half started with kelburne on the ball this time and started off quickly where a lovely aerial Through ball from Chris nelson found Kevin fairbairn on the right wing free who got into the D but couldn’t finish the shot this time. More goals came the 4’s from strikers Mark Connor, colin and Kevin fairbairn who got the Talley up to a total of 13. Halfway through the second half Clydesdale where awarded a penalty flick, the 4’s goalkeeper Rowan McClure when the right way just narrowly missing the save. The game ended at 13-2 an all round great performance for the 4’s and there first league win of the season, they now head into a two week break before there next game but sure to carry on the momentum of the victory into there next game.
