On Saturday some Kelburne youngsters took part in a fun day of Hockey in George Square.  Hosted by Scottish hockey the event was scheduled to build excitement for the men’s EuroHockey Championship II in Glasgow.

Play in the Square saw Kelburne take part in a six-aside U12 mini Euros tournament.  The matches were played on an inflatable pitch while a second inflatable pitch offered the chance for people to come and try hockey in an iconic Glasgow location.

Hamish the Hockey Hippo was also in attendance as part of the build-up for the tournament.  Kelburne faced teams from Clydesdale, Western Wildcats, Hillhead and great fun was had by all throughout the day.

The Men’s EuroHockey Championship II will be held at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre on 6-12 August 2017 and will feature Scotland, Wales, Switzerland, Czech Republic, France, Portugal, Russia, and Ukraine.

As part of the upcoming EuroHockey Championship event, Scottish Hockey are offering coaching and umpiring workshops for club members to attend.

EuroHockey Championship II workshops

Why not observe a game and discuss what you see with other club coaches?

Scott McNeill, GB Coach Developer will lead both workshops and the focus will be on The End in Mind (HockeyHub) and turning observation into practice through effective practice design.

On Sunday 6th August from 1.30pm – 5pm approx. the workshop will be centred around observing the Czech Republic v Wales game

On Tuesday 8th August from 6pm – 9.30pm approx. the workshop will be centred around observing the Scotland v Portugal game.

The cost is £25.00 if you wish to attend both workshops.  This provides you with a season ticket for the tournament.  If you are only able to attend 1 workshop the cost is £12.00 but gives you a day ticket.

For any specific enquiries and to register to attend the workshops contact coaching.
