ProLife Kelburne Men?s 5s lose to Uddingston

ProLife Kelburne Men?s 5s v Uddingston  4s

Saturday 13th February 2016

The young 5th eleven took to the field against an equally young Uddingston 4s side. The game started well for Kelburne as they quickly got the ball into the area for Aaron Primrose to fire home. After this the play was very even with both teams creating chances but both being unable to finish. The young Uddingston side were well organised and began to have the better of the play. After 25 minutes Uddingston found the back of the net when Ryan Wood could only deflect the ball to the back post where an Uddingston forward was there to tap the ball home. There were a couple of half chances after this for both teams but the half finished one all.

The second half started with Uddingston playing the better hockey and creating some chances. This lead to a number of Penalty Corners which Kelburne defended well but it was only a matter of time before Uddingston would take the lead, scoring 10 minutes into the second half. This briefly spurred Kelburne on and, feeling aggrieved he had not gained a Penalty Corner when an Uddingston player played the ball whilst on the ground, Aaron drove into the area past 3 players and fired home. But Uddingston still looked the better team and it was no surprise when they took the lead again. As Kelburne tried to push for an equaliser their play got sloppy and this allowed Uddingston to fire home 2 more goals for what was a deserved victory.
